Bass legends Doctor P and Flux Pavilion are back with a vengeance, teaming up for their heavy-hitting new track "WDGAF," out now via their very own Circus Records. As the first taste of their highly anticipated joint studio album dropping March 27, "WDGAF" serves as the sonic and thematic manifesto for what's to come from them in the following weeks and what to expect from the upcoming body of work itself. With serrating synths, dynamic basslines, and a rebellious vocal hook proclaiming - "we don't give a f***,"."WDGAF" radiates raw energy and an unapologetic attitude. Designed to shake speakers and send shockwaves through festivals, the duo's signature bass-driven organized chaos makes it clear they're not here to prove their worth, since everyone already knows it. Fans won't have to wait long for more, as Flux Pavilion and Doctor P from now on will be releasing 1 new single per week leading up to the album's release, which will culminate in their monumental b2b performance at Ultra Music Festival on March 30. Get ready for 15 tracks of pure bass destruction, crafted by two of dubstep's most iconic artists in the scene.
"The central thesis of the album (not caring what people think of the music, just making it)" - Doctor P
"A timeless statement that echoes through the ages. Sometimes I think it's good to get to the heart of something as quickly as possible, this track was the first one we wrote and set the tone for the rest of the album." - Flux Pavilion
Doctor P
Doctor P, aka Shaun Brockhurst, started his musical journey when he was a teenager, jamming with his friends on the drums and guitar. Since starting Circus Records in 2009 with childhood friend Flux Pavilion, Doctor P has built himself a bass music empire as a quadruple threat with the titles of musician, producer, DJ, and label founder. When he posted his new track "Sweet Shop" on his MySpace to test for interest, little was Doctor P to know that this was to change the course of bass music history and inspire a whole new generation of electronic fans. "Sweet Shop" quickly became a staple part of just about every DJ's set. From junglist to house selector it became an anthem for every floor. The track was one of the first releases on Circus Records and helped make it one of the exciting labels of modern bass music. Since the release of "Sweet Shop," Doctor P continued to grow as an artist. He produced "Music is Dead" with Dillon Francis, "Business" with Far East Movement, 2013 smash "The Pit" with Adam F featuring hip hop royalty Method Man, and more recently the huge "24/7" with Circus Records co-founder Flux Pavilion. Doctor P has also remixed for Black Tiger Sex Machine, YOOKiE, Ganja White Night, Plan B, Example, Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, Blame, and many more.
Flux Pavilion
Co-founder of Circus Records and Dubstep pioneer. Flux Pavilion has produced some of the most successful tracks in electronic music history and launched the careers of scores of new talent in the process. From Glastonbury to Coachella, he has racked up performances at the world's greatest stages, headlining multiple world tours. Influenced by the likes of David Bowie, The Beatles, and Frank Zappa in the early years, it was when he heard The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers that Flux Pavilion knew he had found a musical direction he truly wanted to explore for himself. A deluge of musical projects followed, writing instrumental hip hop and dirty drum & bass, joining local bands, and producing for other acts, all while studying at university. But the major turning point for this unquestionably talented musician was a visit to London superclub Fabric. Since then, Flux Pavilion has continued to develop his signature sound, retaining the all-important energy that The Prodigy and Rusko inspired him with in the early days, and inspiring a generation of electronic music producers in the process. The multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, record producer, and label owner shows no sign of slowing down, releasing beautifully melodic, genre-bending new music, collaborating with the likes of Excision, Zeds Dead, Wooli, Eliminate, Jessica Audiffred, Koven and Cyclops. He continues to storm the live scene with his electrifying live shows, showcasing his talents with singing, multiple synths, and electric guitars.
