Artists: Don Diablo, A$AP Ferg
Title: Plain Jane
Label: HEXAGON
Release date: August 28, 2026
Built for the club long before it was built for release, Don Diablo's reworking of A$AP Ferg's "Plain Jane" arrives today on HEXAGON as an official collaboration between the two. Diablo originally made his version as a weapon for his own sets while touring Saudi Arabia with Quavo and Metro Boomin, with no intention of putting it out - but the reaction kept growing every time he played it, until the track became one of the biggest moments in his set and he set about perfecting it for release. The result is a high-energy collision of electronic music and hip-hop, pairing Ferg's unmistakable vocal with Diablo's club-driven production. It lands in the same vein as his March collaboration with Wiz Khalifa and functions as a natural follow-up to it, marking another major hip-hop link-up from his forthcoming FLUX album, which has already yielded releases with Wiz Khalifa, Bipolar Sunshine and Pink Sweat$. A defining voice in modern New York hip-hop, Ferg has accumulated billions of streams across his career, and "Plain Jane" stands among his signature records: the original has passed 800 million Spotify streams, while its various versions have surpassed a billion combined, cementing it as a modern hip-hop anthem. Bringing it back as a new original, Diablo continues to connect his electronic roots with a new generation of sounds and collaborators.
"I've always been a huge fan of Ferg, and 'Plain Jane' is an absolute anthem. I originally made my version as a weapon for my sets while I was touring through Saudi Arabia with Quavo and Metro Boomin. I never really intended to release it, but every time I played it, the reaction got bigger. It just kept growing organically until it became one of the biggest moments in my set. Since then I've been perfecting the record, so the fact that Ferg and I are now able to release it together as an official collaboration feels full circle. Sonically, it's the perfect marriage between where I come from as a producer and where my sound is heading next." - Don Diablo

A$AP Ferg
A Harlem rapper with an innovative and risky approach to his craft, A$AP Ferg is a founding member of A$AP Mob and one of the crew's breakout stars. Originally the group's main clothing designer, he turned unconventional production choices and an unusual vocal delivery into the defining factors of his solo work after teaming up with fellow Mob member A$AP Rocky. His big break came in 2012, when "Work" landed as the key cut on A$AP Mob's Lords Never Worry mixtape, leading to an RCA deal and an all-star remix featuring Trinidad James, French Montana and ScHoolboy Q. Ferg channeled that momentum into chart success with Top Ten studio albums Trap Lord (2013) and Always Strive and Prosper (2016), the latter featuring Missy Elliott, Chuck D, Skrillex and Lil Uzi Vert. His 2017 mixtape Still Striving delivered "Plain Jane," his highest-charting solo track to date, alongside an "East Coast" remix with Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg and Rick Ross. Later projects include the Floor Seats EP (2019) and mixtape Floor Seats II (2020), with guests spanning Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne and Ty Dolla $ign, followed by singles like the Pharrell Williams collaboration "Green Juice" and 2024's "Off White Rozay."
